Privacy
Last updated September 23, 2026
Mend is a private space for two people. We keep what the app needs to work, and nothing to sell. No ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no one else's analytics watching what you do.
What we keep
- Your account. Your name (optional) and email, from Sign in with Apple, and an account ID.
- What you make. Notes, drawings, photos, voice recordings, check-ins, and the words you write when you start a mend.
- Your subscription. Whether Mend Plus is active, read back from the App Store. We never see your payment details.
We use all of it only to run the app for you and your partner.
Private stays private
What you reflect on privately is yours. Nothing reaches your partner until you have seen it and chosen to share it. Lock Screen widgets only say whether something is waiting, never what.
AI
The private guide and the Spark drawing helper use AI from OpenAI. Only your own words or prompt from that conversation are sent — never your partner's private words. When you hold to speak, the recording is sent for transcription and then discarded. You are asked before this happens the first time.
Who helps us run Mend
- Convex stores the app's data.
- Apple handles sign in and payments.
- RevenueCat tells the app whether your subscription is active.
- OpenAI powers the guide, Spark, and voice transcription.
- Expo delivers push notifications.
Deleting everything
Settings → Delete account removes your account and what you made, and revokes Mend's Sign in with Apple access. Disconnecting from your partner is always available in Settings too.
Not therapy
Mend is not therapy, counselling, or emergency support. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services. Mend keeps support resources inside the repair flow: start a mend and tap Find support.
Children
Mend is made for adults and is not directed at children.
